Whether you are just now becoming a Christian, coming back to Christ after a period of doubt, or sorting out a difficult problem, this could be the beginning of a new enduring relationship with Jesus Christ. God wants you to enjoy a full and rewarding life and has made every provision for you.

First, the Bible is food for a Spiritual life, which needs to be nurtured and nourished just as your physical body. Through God’s Word, God speaks to you and reveals His plan and purpose for your life. Begin by reading a small potion each day. As you read, ask God to reveal Himself to you, and to give you understanding.

Second, prayer is your lifeline to God. Develop the habit of starting each day with a few minutes in prayer. Conversation with God may seem strange at first, and you may feel awkward and find it hard to know what to say. As you continue, your prayers will become more meaningful. Take all of your problems, and burdens to God because He is interested in everything you do (1 Peter 5:7). Talk to Him as you would your closest friend.

Third, a Christian should be a witness for Christ. He is to be an ambassador for Him wherever he goes. Pray each day that you might share Christ with others and God will open up opportunities. As you faithfully study
and memorize the Scriptures, you will become better equipped to share Christ with others.

Fourth, you cannot be an effective Christian on your own. God’s Word clearly shows we need to be active members of the body of Christ through the local church. Seek a church where the Word of God is faithfully
preached and taught. If you do not attend a church, I am sure the person(s) who invited you to Emmanuel Church today will be happy to assist you in your search.

It is our prayer that God will bless you in this new step of faith and keep you as you continue in His love and grace.

Yours in Christ,
